Energy Weaving with the Wandering Shaman: Quantum Human Design and Shamanic Wisdom - Intro to my Podcast

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, which is essentially going to be a transcript of my podcast. I am Nola, a Quantum Human Design Specialist, Full Mesa Shaman, Reiki Master, Natural Health Therapist, and Energy Weaver. I’m so excited to embark on this journey with you. Each week, we’ll dive into the cosmic energies of the Sun and Earth as they move through the Quantum Human Design body graph. What’s even more special in this podcast, is that we’ll be weaving in Shamanic wisdom, which connects us with ancient knowledge about healing, energy, and the natural world. These teachings have been used for thousands of years to guide individuals in their journey toward balance, wholeness, and alignment with the Earth and Cosmos.  I will be pulling an oracle card from a couple of different decks and weaving that wisdom into the messages coming from the transits of the sun and the earth.

The first “official” episode will be launching on January 22nd, in honor of the Human Design new year. But before we get started, I wanted to take this opportunity to explain a little about Quantum Human Design and Shamanism. These concepts might be new to many of you, and that’s absolutely okay! I’ll walk you through the basics so you can better understand how they can support your growth and transformation in the weeks to come.

Quantum Human Design is a modern evolution of the traditional Human Design system, blending the original design wisdom with contemporary quantum physics principles. It integrates astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, the chakra system, and quantum physics. It encourages individuals to embrace their true essence and live in alignment with their highest potential by tapping into their innate energy flow. This system can guide you in decision-making, relationships, work, and personal growth, allowing you to step into a life of greater clarity, purpose, and fulfillment.

It is a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal transformation that provides deep insights into an individual's unique energetic blueprint. Through the Quantum Human Design body graph, you can understand your natural strengths, challenges, and purpose in life by mapping out your energy centers, channels, and gates based on your birth data.

By understanding how the cosmic energies influence you at a quantum level, you can align your actions, thoughts, and emotions with your authentic self, making it easier to navigate life’s challenges and opportunities. Quantum Human Design empowers you to unlock your fullest potential by honoring your unique energy and living in harmony with the universe’s natural rhythms.

There are many, many parts and pieces in any one Human design chart, but let me just introduce you to a few of them.  Two of the key elements that provide foundational insight into how a person is energetically wired are one’s Type and Authority. These elements help guide you toward living in alignment with your true self, making decisions that honor your unique design, and understanding how you interact with the world.

Types

There are five main Types in Human Design, each representing a distinct way of engaging with the world and interacting with others.

1. Manifestors: Manifestors are initiators and leaders. They are here to make things happen and are designed to act independently. Manifestors often have a powerful, impactful energy and can pave the way for change.

2. Generators: Generators are the builders and sustainers of life force energy - the worker bees of the planet. They have consistent, abundant energy when they are doing work that excites them. Generators are most satisfied when they are engaged in meaningful activities that spark their inner response.

3. Manifesting Generators: A hybrid of Manifestors and Generators, Manifesting Generators have the ability to act quickly and initiate, but like Generators, they are best when they respond to opportunities and are doing things that really light them up. They can move through tasks quickly (sometimes too quickly) and are often multi-talented.

4. Projectors: Projectors are guides and visionaries, designed to direct and lead others. Their energy is not meant for sustained physical work, but rather for recognizing the potential in others. Projectors are most effective when recognized for their wisdom and talents.

5. Reflectors: Reflectors are rare, representing about 1% of the population. They are deeply connected to the energy of their environment and have a unique ability to reflect the health and well-being of the communities they inhabit. Reflectors are not meant to make decisions quickly, as they need time to fully process and understand the energy around them before moving forward.

   
   

Authority

Your Authority is your inner decision-making mechanism. It indicates how you should make decisions that are aligned with your true self, instead of relying on logic, external opinions, or pressure. There are several types of Authorities, depending on the design, and each one provides a unique way of guiding decisions.  I’m not going to get into all of them here; that is better left to individual readings.  There is also an element called your “profile” which we also get into in individual readings, and then there are the Gates.  We will be talking about the gates in this podcast, so I want to touch on them a little here.

Gates

The Gates are derived from the I Ching, an ancient Chinese divination system, which is integrated into Human Design. There are 64 Gates, each associated with a hexagram in the I Ching, and they are placed in specific positions within the Human Design chart (which is based on astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system).

Here’s a little more about the Gates in Quantum Human Design:

1. Gates as Energetic Themes: Each Gate represents a specific life theme or energetic quality. For example, Gate 1 is associated with creativity and self-expression, while Gate 3 is linked to difficulty with new beginnings but also a potential for innovation.

2. Activation in the Chart: Your individual Human Design chart shows which Gates are activated in you based on the time and place of your birth. These activated Gates give you insights into your natural predispositions, strengths, and challenges.

3. Channels and Gates: Gates can be connected to each other to form "Channels" — these are active flows of energy between two Gates. When a Channel is complete, it represents a defined energy pathway that impacts how you experience and express certain aspects of your personality.

4. Transits and Influence: Gates are also influenced by transiting planets, meaning that the energetic themes of a Gate may shift or be activated temporarily as the planets move through them.

5. Unique Potential: Each Gate carries a unique potential or gift for you to explore in your life, depending on whether it’s activated and how it interacts with other aspects of your chart.

   
   

So that is kind of the tip of the iceberg on Quantum Human Design.  If you are interested in learning more about your own personal design, I highly recommend a reading.  My first reading really changed my life and helped me understand a lot about how I interact in the world, why I do the things I do and why I react the way I do - why I mesh well with some people and not so well with others. Now, for a few words on Shamanism.  

Shamanism

The ancient practice of Shamanism is as wide and vast as the number of Shamanic practitioners in the world.  It is a spiritual practice rooted in the belief that everything in the natural world—humans, animals, plants, the elements, and the land itself—has its own spirit and consciousness and that we are all connected. Shamans are spiritual practitioners who serve as intermediaries between the human world and the spiritual realms, facilitating healing, guidance, and wisdom through deep connection with the unseen world. Shamanic traditions can be found in cultures all over the world, from indigenous communities in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, to Celtic and Norse traditions in Europe.

At its core, Shamanism involves a holistic approach to healing and personal growth, focusing on restoring energetic balance and harmony in individuals, communities, and the environment. Shamans access spiritual knowledge through expanded states of consciousness.  How this works for me personally is through drumming or meditation. These enhanced states of mind allow me to journey into the spiritual realms to receive guidance, conduct healing work, and communicate with spirits, ancestors, and other entities.  While individual results will vary, I often receive clear messages of guidance for my client.

In this podcast, I will be intuitively pulling an oracle card from a Shamanic Oracle Deck called The Mystic Wanderer by Austin Heeney and Kate Osbourne.  The wisdom that comes through that deck will be woven in with the guidance present in the energy of the gates that the sun and earth are highlighting for that particular week, giving you some profound things to contemplate.  I will also be offering some questions to ponder, often pulled from the work of Dr. Karen Curry Parker, the creator of Quantum Human Design.  The link to her work is in the show notes as well.  Feel free to journal your thoughts, meditate on a question that resonates with you, or just listen and absorb.  There is no right or wrong way to do this; make this journey your own.  And if you miss a week or 6, that’s ok too; just jump back in when you can.
