Hello everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my podcast where we are exploring the movement of the sun and the earth through the Human Design Chart as well as some Shamanic wisdom to help us along our path. Today is February 13, 2025, and the sun has entered Gate 30 - the Gate of Passion, and the earth is in Gate 29 - the Gate of Devotion. If you are new to Human Design and/or Shamanism, I highly recommend that you go back and listen to Episode 1 of this podcast. I give a brief introduction to both concepts there, with a lot of the “lingo” explained. Or you could read the Introductory blog post here, where I also briefly introduce both concepts; it may help you as we move through the year.
A quick announcement before we start….if you are in the Traverse City, Michigan area, and would like to experience a mini human design reading, come to Higher Self Bookstore on Saturday, February 15th from 10 am to 4 pm. I will be at their metaphysical fair there doing 20-minute mini human design readings for $30. All you need to do is show up with your birthdate, time and place and we can do a reading. I’d love to see you and introduce you to this amazing modality.
So, without any further ado, let’s see what this week has in store for us.
I am going to do this episode a little differently. Rather than save all my contemplation questions until the end, I am going to sprinkle them throughout. So, grab your journal if you’ve been journaling and let’s get started. The Sun is in Gate 30 - the gate of Passion. Here are some questions right off the bat.
What are you passionate about?
Have you lost your passion?
How is your energy? Are you burned out? Are you burned out on ideas?
The energy of this gate is all about being able to sustain a dream or a vision without burning out. It is about knowing which dream(s) to be passionate about. It is about waiting for the right timing to share your passion with the world. How will you know when the timing is right? In my opinion, and in my experience, I know when the timing is right when things are easy - when things just seem to fall into place. If I’m trying to do something and things are a struggle, and every time I turn around I’m running into a roadblock, I know that something must be out of alignment and the timing isn’t quite right. That doesn’t mean we need to give up on our passions. It just means we may need to wait a bit longer. Me launching this new business adventure is a perfect example. It was percolating in the back of my mind for a long time before I actually pulled the trigger. And when I finally did, things just seemed to fall into place. I was able to create a new website pretty easily; the people I have been reaching out to have been receptive and supportive of my ideas, and this podcast just fell into place. To be clear, I knew NOTHING about podcasting before the end of last year when I started watching Youtube videos about how to start a podcast. There was definitely a learning curve, but here we are.
The energy of this gate is also about inspiring passion in others. But remember, we can only share what we have. If we are burnt out and our passion is waning, we don’t have the resources to be inspiring to others. Are you burned out? The biggest indication that this gate is out of balance is that feeling of burn out. If you are burned out, what do you need? Do you simply need to rest? Do you need a vacation? Do you need to clean up your diet? Maybe lay off the caffeine or sugar for a while? Do you need some alone time? Maybe start a meditation practice? Maybe a walk in nature? Do you need an energetic reset? The energy work I do is a great way to get “unstuck.” It clears your chakras, which are basically where energy enters and leaves your body; it energizes your meridians, which are the energy pathways in your body; and it cleanses your aura, which is your energetic body. If there are energetic blockages, it is hard to be creative because our creative juices are not flowing as they should. Check out my energy work offerings in the services section of this website and please reach out with any questions you may have. Sessions can be done in person or remotely via zoom. This week would be a great week to get things cleared out and realigned so that the sun’s powerful energy has a clear path to travel.
So, let’s say you are clear about where your passion lies, you feel good and you are ready to rock with bringing your creative vision to life. What energy is the earth bringing to help us ground those passions and visions? The energy of the earth in Gate 29, the Gate of Devotion asks us to discover who and what we need to devote ourselves to. It asks us to find that right person - that right place - that right situation - that is going to support our creative passions and visions. That person, place or situation is going to help bring that vision to fruition. This is something we are asked to trust our gut on. This energy is also asking us to be discerning and to not overcommit ourselves. Sometimes we don’t know when to say no, or how to say no; we don’t know when enough is enough, which also leads us to burn out like we talked about before. This gate is attached to the sacral center, which is all about gut instinct. If it feels good in your gut, then it is probably a good choice for you. If it doesn’t feel good, then it is probably not a good choice. Tuning into our gut response is a key factor in making decisions that are in alignment with our best and highest good, and this can take some practice. So, here are a few more questions for contemplation this week:
What is driving you right now?
What commitments do you have and do they bring you joy, or are you doing them for some other reason?
Are you easily able to say no if something doesn’t feel right in your gut? If not, why not?
What obligations do you need off your plate right now?
What do YOU want to devote yourself to?
So, interestingly, the card I drew from the Mystic Wanderer deck by Austeen Heeney is the Pegasus card, which is the same card that was drawn back in my first episode on January 22nd. Apparently we need to hear the message again, so here it is:
Does success seem elusive? Do your goals seem unattainable? Being dragged down by the weight of your desires Dreams are not heavy; they are what float you off the ground and lift you to the heavens. Listen here, dreamer! Don’t let anyone tell you your aspirations are too big, too much, or too crazy; your dreams are epic and beautiful. People may try to discourage you from going after and chasing the life you desire. Pegasus is here to give you courage and bravery to go fearlessly into the unknown. To show you what the spiritual realm can help you with. This is the time of great ambition and hope, so start to organize, make contacts and really dedicate your entire being to your purpose. It’s going to be a prosperous journey. Take flight wanderer, feel yourself soaring through the sky, and gazing down on a grateful world.
So the take-aways I would like to leave you with this week are: 1. Tune in to and trust your gut. 2. If you can’t hear your gut, practice getting quiet, meditating or connecting with nature. 3. If you feel burned out, rest, clean up your diet, and/or get your energy cleansed.
Tune in next on February 19th, when we talk about the sun moving into Gate 55 - the Gate of Faith and the Earth moving into Gate 59, the Gate of Sustainability.
