Hello everyone!  Welcome or welcome back to my podcast where we are exploring the movement of the sun and the earth through the Human Design Chart as well as some Shamanic wisdom to help us along our path.  Today is February 19, 2025, and the sun has entered Gate 55 - the Gate of Faith, and the earth is in Gate 59 - the Gate of Sustainability.  If you are just finding me, don’t worry about what you may have missed; you can just jump in where we are.  I do recommend, however, if you are new to Human Design and/or Shamanism, go back and listen to Episode 1 of this podcast.  I give a brief introduction to both concepts there, with a lot of the “lingo” explained.  Or you could read the Introductory blog post, where I also briefly introduce both concepts; it may help you as we move through the year.

So, with that being said, let’s see what this week’s energy has in store for us.

The sun is in Gate 55, the Gate of Faith.  This is another emotional gate, as it is connected to the emotional solar plexus.  Let’s talk first about the unbalanced expression of this energy.  The opposite of faith is fear, so if we fall into fear easily, this gate could be out of balance.  If we have a lack mentality - always feeling like we don’t have enough, we are not enough, we don’t deserve enough - this gate could be out of balance.  If we have a hoarding mentality - always feeling like we have to hide things and not share them because if we share them, there will not be enough for ourselves - this gate could be out of balance.  If we are indecisive, this gate could be out of balance.

The balanced expression of this energy has us trusting Source (whatever you know that as - God, the Universe, a Higher power, Mother earth, Spirit, etc.) and believing that we are fully supported.  When we are in alignment with the energy of this gate, we know that our every need will be met (maybe not our every WANT, but our every NEED).  We trust in sufficiency SO deeply that we are able to create without limitation.  That takes a lot of faith.

So, here are some questions to ponder as this energy comes through this week:

  • Do you trust that you are deeply supported?  And what do you need to do to deepen that trust?

  • How can you align yourself with more abundant emotional energy?

  • What do you have faith in now?  Are there any old gods of limitation that you need to stop worshipping?

  • Take stock of the miracles in your life.  Make a list.  No pressure to make it a daily practice, but you could.  Or  you could simply notice what one magical thing happened today?

So what if you are not in alignment with this energy?  What if your faith is waning?  What if you are stuck in lack mentality and can’t find the magic you are surrounded by?  Remember, the position of the earth shows us how to ground the sun’s energy so that it will manifest in our lives.  Let’s see what advice Gate 59 has to offer.  The energy here asks us to come together with people who sustain us; to seek out relationships where we can share our abundance in a sustainable way.  If we are with people who are constantly draining us, whether that be mentally, financially, eotionally or energetically, those relationships are not sustainable.  Our personal resources will eventually dry up and we will have nothing left to give.  In Human Design, there are groups of gate and channels that make up certain “circuits”.  There are several, and they each have a different theme and that is also something we often cover in a full individual reading, so I’m not going to go too much in depth here.  For our purposes, I just want to mention that Gate 59 is part of the tribal circuit, and the tribal circuit is all about preservation of the “tribe.”  It is about being able to respond to the needs of others in a sustainable way so that resources don’t get depleted and dry up.  The Mystic Wanderer card that I pulled gives us some more interesting things to ponder, and I’ll get to that in a minute.  But first, let’s contemplate a these:

  • Do you trust your own abundance?

  • How do you feel about sharing what you have with others?

  • Do you have relationships that are draining you?  What needs to change?

  • How is your energy?  Do you feel vital and sustainable?  If not, what can you do to rest and renew yourself this week?

Now, let’s look at the card I pulled….it is the South card.  In this deck, there is a card for each direction - north, south, east and west - and this the advice that the south brings us.  It’s a little different take than what the gates are talking about, but interestingly, it brings us right back to sustainability. Here's what it says:

Pause wanderer, do you hear that? The subtle yet powerful drum of the earth's heartbeat. The South is all about remembering the healing power of Nature - the animals, plants, seasons, and elements. It's the direction of the Healer; it's guiding us to go back to Nature, so we can better understand ourselves and our place as custodians of this land, not masters of it. This card is suggesting it may be beneficial to look at herbal remedies for cures, spending more time with the different kinds of trees, walking barefoot and grounding through the dirt, and listening to the music of birds. It calls us to learn about the many healing plants, their properties and to learn about how aligning with the seasons and weather can assist us in understanding our own cycles. Incorporating natural medicines in our life can be very healing. How can you include some of Nature's great attributes into your life?

So here is a challenge for us that comes from the energy of this card. Use the healing powers of the earth at this time. Avoid using of eating highly processed or synthetic items. Gain knowledge about the seasons and cycle we all go through. Retreat for a couple of days. What is your place in helping the earth? Change what you can at home to make your life more sustainable.

This is exactly what we were talking about - becoming sustainable - becoming abundant - realizing our abundance - realizing how to maintain that abundance sustainably - realizing how to share that abundance sustainably - realizing who we can share it with that won't drain us - that will help us to stay sustainable. So those are a lot of challenges for the next 5 days!

We'll be back again on February 24th, when we talk about the sun moving into Gate 37 - the Gate of Peace and the Earth moving into Gate 40, the Gate of Restoration.
